Nigerian Navy Rescues Personnel & Daughter From Kidnappers In Rivers

 

the nigerian army said it has rescued a naval employees, who kidnapped alongside his daughter within the overdue hours of december 28 in ozuoha/omademe network in rivers nation.

commodore sam bura, the commander, nigerian army deliver pathfinder, port harcourt, stated in a statement on saturday that the victims were freed shortly after a gun duel with their abductors.

he stated five suspects, who finished the kidnap, have been arrested at the scene, whilst their chief escaped with gunshot wounds, including that troops had been currently on trail of the escapee.

he stated, “the suspects conspired and kidnapped a naval employees and his daughter at approximately eight p.m. on december 28 round ozuoha/omademe communities in ikwerre neighborhood government region of the country.

“therefore, we mobilised a quick reaction team, in collaboration with other safety organizations, toward rescuing the employees and his daughter.

“the armed rescue crew rescued the victims after enticing the kidnappers in a gun combat and thereafter dislodged the kidnappers den in omademe community.

“five suspects were arrested in possession of risky guns; three of the suspects have been wounded at the same time as their suspected gang leader escaped with gunshot wounds,” he said.

bura stated the gang become accountable for numerous abduction and cult-related activities in ubima network and other parts of the state.

he claimed that the gang had recently tried to assassinate a director of the naval battle college, ubima, but become unsuccessful.

the commander added that the suspects had been handed over to the nigeria police to perform in addition investigation and possible prosecution.
