Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has entreated the federal authorities to handle the ongoing Lassa fever risk with the equal zeal Ebola was once tackled in the country.
Atiku, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the final Presidential election, while reacting to Coronavirus, Lassa fever counseled the Nigerian authorities on preventive measures.

While about 80 persons have reportedly died of the coronavirus with 2744 purportedly infected worldwide, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, Saturday mentioned that about 195 cases of Lassa fever have been proven and that 29 deaths have been mentioned in 11 states as of January 24.
